Learning to Discuss the Tough Topics without the Dread

All people, at one time or another, have to address difficult topics. We may avoid these challenging topics because it’s difficult to get our point across in a respectful manner that takes into consideration why different people think and feel the way they do.

During this fun and interactive session we will tackle those difficult topics and learn practical and respectful ways to communicate in a manner that’s beneficial to both parties.

Feel free to think of those situations you wish you could take care of with a magic wand. We will practice using these practical tools together.

This workshop promises to provide helpful, practical tools you can take back and use the very next day.

So many times we focus on giving “good customer service” to our clients. Now let’s focus on how we can do the same for each other. With so much focus on the external customer it can be easy to lose sight of the importance of treating each other with the same respect and dignity we give our customers.

This fun, interactive workshop will give us the opportunity to seek further insight on ways we can better collaborate with each other. This will not be a “lecture” type format.

Areas that will be discussed will include the importance of preference, the Five Love Languages, and other data that supports strength base philosophy and leadership models.

Learn the consequences of email flaming in the workplace and discuss why definitions of confidentiality may need to be further broadened and policies may need to be created. Liability issues are now even more critical and the consequences of not staying ahead of technology and its use can put your agency in harms way. We will use current case histories to enhance our learning.

I love to Tell the Story

Whether we are trying to motivate our colleagues, clients, or even family members telling our story gives a rich and interesting flavor to those “lessons learned.” As we reflect upon the path of our career there are those stories that we will never forget and can help us remember why we do the work that we do and stay connected to these stories.
